Students looking for internships, co-ops, or full-time employment will have the opportunity to connect with 150 employers at the upcoming Spring 2026 Career Fair, scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the SDC. This event is designed to join Huskies with companies actively recruiting.

The Spring Career Fair continues to attract a strong mix of returning and new companies. According to Career Service’s Director of Employer Relations, Jim Desrochers, companies are invited through Michigan Tech’s Handshake platform, which connects the university with thousands of employers nationwide, along with targeted email invitations. “Currently 150 companies are registered for the event,” Desrochers said. “Approximately 75 percent of these employers also attended the Fall Career Fair and about 70 percent participated in last year’s Spring Career Fair.”

Many of these companies choose to return due to their positive experiences hiring Michigan Tech students and graduates. “Many organizations continue to recruit at Michigan Tech because they already employed Huskies who make strong contributions to their teams, and they are eager to hire more graduates with similar talent and work ethic,” Desrochers said. About 10 percent of this year‘s employers have not attended a Michigan Tech career fair in the past two years, bringing new opportunities for students.

Even students who are not currently searching for a job or internship can benefit from attending the fair. Desrochers acknowledges that “career fairs can feel loud and crowded and intimidating for many students,” he said. “Understanding what to expect, such as how to introduce yourself, shake hands, and start a conversation with someone new are skills that improve with practice.”

“The Spring Career Fair, with its typically smaller and less crowded environment, provides an ideal setting for students to build confidence and develop these skills while gaining valuable experience navigating a professional networking event,” Desrochers said. “Use this as a chance to learn which companies you may want to work for, our recruiters want you to succeed.”
