Week three’s USG meeting was held on Wednesday, Sep. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge. USG celebrated the appointment of a new member, Sydney Wieseler, as the College of Science and Arts representative. Wieseler is a math major minoring in Spanish. “I wanted to join to give a voice to my community,” said Wieseler when asked about her reasoning for joining. She was voted in with a vote of 15 yays and 2 abstentions.
The Mushing Club is moving out of its current headquarters. They currently have their new storage location set up and should be gone within the week.
Public relations, run by Coleton Wilczynski, may potentially be looking for a new meeting time/ location. They haven’t decided anything yet, but will have more information by the next USG meeting.
The Ways and Means committee has had several applications presented at the meeting that will be voted on next week. This includes funding towards the Archery club, Huskies Baking club, and Copper Country Robotics.
In other news, USG is giving constitution amendment presentations to classes in the hope of gaining votes for said amendment. The presentations have yielded results in the form of over 400 votes in favor of the amendment.
