Night of the Living Shred Rail Jam

The annual Night of the Living Shred Rail Jam, hosted by the Ski and Snowboard Club of Michigan Tech, is kicking off this Saturday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. This event will unfold on Walker Lawn and promises to be an exhilarating showcase of skill and creativity as participants take on an array of rails and obstacles hoping to claim top honors.

Participation in the rail jam is $10 for active ski and snowboard club members. However, non-members are also welcome to attend for a fee of $15. In the spirit of promoting safety, helmets will be mandated for all participants throughout their performances.

Prizes await the top scores in the skiing and snowboarding categories. Prizes may include, but are not limited to, skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, and ski and snowboard apparel. For those looking to infuse some Halloween spirit into the event, there will also be a special prize for the contestant with the best costume.

This annual event, which aims to kick off ski and snowboard season early here at Tech, promises to get all participants and spectators fired up for this upcoming season. This year, Red Bull Energy Drink will be sponsoring the event. This includes free Red Bull Energy for all in attendance, as well as special merchandise such as stickers, water bottles, and hats. Whether looking for gold or just looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon, come down to Walker Lawn to watch some of Tech’s best park ski and snowboarders.
