Stabbing in Mass City, Michigan

A press release from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources informed that a 23-year-old man from Gogebic county was arrested on February 4 in Mass City in relation to a stabbing which occurred the same day at Meritt’s Travel Center. Michigan Department of Natural Resources conservation officers responded to a radio report made at 5:47 p.m. They assisted Ontonagon County Sheriff’s deputies in the arrest. The perpetrator is currently held at Ontonagon County Jail, without bail. He is awaiting trial for domestic violence, felony assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting arrest. Michigan conservation officers are tasked with enforcing laws related to natural resources including hunting, fishing and wildlife, state parks and hiking as well as responding to natural disasters and emergencies.
