Local and national businesses offer discounts to students

Being a college student is quite financially draining. That is why many companies offer excellent discounts for current college students. Whether it is trying a new service or saving a couple dollars on an existing service, here are some deals you should know. 

Amazon offers current students a free six month trial of Prime followed by a 50 percent discount. This includes free shipping and additional discounts for other Amazon services such as Prime Video, Amazon Music Prime, Kindle Unlimited, and more. Grubhub+ is also free with this offer.

Microsoft offers free access to Office 365 for students when using their school email for 12 months. This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams. 

Spotify’s student discount offers Spotify Premium free for one month before charging almost 50 percent off their Spotify Premium subscription. While the original price is $12.99 a month, the student discount reduces it to $6.99 a month, which also includes Hulu.

Hulu’s student discount offers students a $1.99 a month subscription with ads instead of the base subscription of $6.99 a month.

Adobe offers 71 percent off of their Adobe Creative Cloud subscription for both students and teachers. This includes Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, and more.

The Houghton Biggby offers a 40 percent discount on Mondays for students with an active student ID.

Other smaller discounts include Babbel’s offer of 65 percent off for three months and Verizon’s offer of $10 off a month for one line or $12.50 off for two.

The deals above are not all the discounts offered to students, with deals extending every category from technology to footwear and more. Next time you’re buying something and looking for a little extra off, check for a student discount.
