Michigan Tech hosted more than 360 employers at its semi-annual Career Fair on Tuesday, Sep. 23, 2025. This was the perfect opportunity for MTU students to showcase their skills to the hundreds of companies that came to recruit for student internships, co-ops, and full-time positions. Michigan Tech’s Career Fair enables students from all majors to discover job opportunities that will provide them with experience in their field, and for employers to fill open positions within their companies.
At the 2025 Career Fair, Hundreds of students gathered to talk with employers. Many students explained their thoughts, one of them being Tyler Franklin, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student. He said before Career Fair, “I’m feeling optimistic and excited for the opportunities”. After Career Fair was over, he stated, “Career Fair went good for being within the confines of how good Career Fair can go.” Another student, Katelyn Lammi, a Mechanical Engineering student, said before going, “I’m feeling nervous about it. There’s a lot of great companies but even more great candidates.” After Career Fair, she said, “I think it actually went really well.” Many students get excited about Career Fair due to the potential and practical experience it brings them.
Career Fair isn’t just good for students; it’s also good for recruiters looking to fill internship or full-time positions at a company. The Lode reached out to Michigan Tech alumni to gather their thoughts on the Career Fair. Jacob Moreau, a Mechanical Engineering alumnus who works for CWC Textron, said he thought the Career Fair went “Great! It’s always great seeing a bunch of driven people”. Recruiters love to see students who showcase their skills and are driven to invest in their future.
Many students lucked out, scoring next-day interviews on Michigan Tech’s biggest interview day of the year on Wednesday, Sep. 24. With thousands of interviews taking place, the campus was very busy all week. The Career Fair is a positive influence for everyone, including those who don’t secure an internship. It provides experience in talking to recruiters for future Career Fairs, as well as for after college when trying to find a full-time job.
