University Senate

Michigan Tech’s University Senate met on Oct. 27. The Senate discussed Proposal 2-22, a change that would require teacher evaluations to be sent to department chairs. The Senate moved the proposal to Nov. 10 over concerns raised over bias, confidentiality, and necessity.

The senate then introduced proposals concerning the implementation of several different minor programs. New minors discussed were a minor in Business IT Solutions, a minor in Construction Management, a minor in Entrepreneurship, Technology and Innovation, a minor in Theater Performance, and a minor in Sound.

While the proposals over the amendments were introduced for questions, no vote was held over them. Additional information concerning the senate meeting, including the meeting minutes, agendas and full proposals can be found on their web page.
