The village of Calumet DDA partners with Invent@NMU to become the second kiosk in the Upper Peninsula

Invent@NMU The Northern Michigan University idea incubator partnered with the village of Calumet DDA on Nov. 5. They also partnered with local companies such as REL and 330 Fifth to launch a remote kiosk, to help take business ideas from “napkin to market.” The “Business Brews” event held on Nov. 13 to initiate this was an opportunity for inventors and entrepreneurs to learn about the services offered. They could also submit an idea for a product, business or invention and receive a free QuickExplore review from the Invent@NMU team within 3 business days.

The event was held at Keweenaw Coffee Works where about 25 local community members gathered to network, and learn about the kiosk. The Calumet Kiosk is the second remote kiosk stationed in the upper peninsula, with the first located at Gogebic Community College. Further information is at invent.nmu.edu.
