Manchester bleeds red

It was a week to remember for Manchester United and its fans as they pulled a remarkable comeback against the champion-elect of the Premier League 2017-18, Manchester City. Manchester City, who are now famously known as the Cityzens looked all set to lift the title against their fiercest city rivals Manchester United at the Etihad stadium after leading 2-0 (goals coming from the club captain Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan) at the halftime against a low spirited Manchester United who looked all set and done given City’s nearly perfect performance in the first 45 minutes.

However, the game was a tale of two halves where Manchester United defied the odds and came out fighting to pull the unimaginable. It was Paul Pogba, along with Alexis Sanchez, who ran the riot at the Etihad Stadium. Paul Pogba proved why he is the most expensive signing made by a British club by scoring two goals in about 90 seconds, thus restoring the parity. The day was perfectly capped by Chris Smalling, who made up for his mistake which resulted in City’s first goal by scoring the winner past a helpless Ederson.

This match also marked the first defeat for Pep Guardiola’s team at home in the Premier League. The United fans could celebrate ruining the championship celebrations thereby making City wait to be crowned as the champions of England.
