Michigan Tech students gathered at the MUB on Thursday, Oct. 15 for Husky Halloween. The event featured Halloween activities throughout the MUB and brought several campus organizations together. Husky Halloween began at 6 p.m., and by around 6:20 p.m., the check-in area was busy with students waiting in line. The early turnout created a busy start to the event. Students could then take part in activities located throughout the building.
Pumpkin carving and seed roasting took place in the MUB Commons with the MUB Board and Husky Eats. Students carved their own pumpkins while enjoying one of the night’s fall activities. The activity gave students a traditional way to celebrate Halloween on-campus.
The first floor featured Haunted Halls Trick-or-Treating with Student Leadership and Involvement, the MUB Bubs, and the Campus Store. The Undergraduate Student Government also hosted mini golf for students to play with friends. In the Alley Makerspace, students could participate in crafts and watch a movie.
Costumes were encouraged during Husky Halloween, and students who dressed up could enter a giveaway for a chance to win a pair of Beats headphones. Students could also complete a Pumpkin Pass by visiting activities throughout the event. Completing the pass earned them an additional bingo card later that night.
The evening ended with Late Night Bingo in the MUB Ballroom from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Students played bingo for prizes, including Apple AirPods. The activity wrapped up a night filled with different Halloween events around the MUB.
If you missed the opportunity to participate and want to celebrate Halloween on-campus, you can participate in SafeHouse on Oct. 31. SafeHouse invites children from the local community onto campus for an evening of festive activities and games, and student volunteers are needed to run the event.
