Last Friday marked the 25th anniversary of a day that will forever live in the hearts and minds of Americans. Although many of the students who walk the campus weren’t born on Sept. 11th, 2001, we honor the 2,977 victims of that day and the courage and bravery of the first responders. We honor those who continue to fight long-lasting health problems from the rescue and cleanup efforts; we honor those families who never heard their loved ones’ voices again; and we honor those who continue to keep the memory of the fallen alive. Whether it was watched live or through a documentary in history class, it is an image and a weight passed down through generations that will live on, and a shared story that reminds us all that we are stronger together.
