On Wednesday, Sep. 17, 2025, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) held its fourth meeting for the fall semester. This meeting’s main focus was Registered Student Organization (RSO) funding.

The first order of business was celebrating the passing of the new USG constitutional amendments after receiving a vote from 15% of the undergraduate student body.

Afterwards, USG started reviewing Ways and Means (WAM) requests from clubs. The Archery Club requested $927.58 for two new targets to replace their previous ones, which were described as being “old as time.” The motion passed 16-0-1.

The Copper Country Robotics club requested $3,342.93 for electronic equipment. The equipment is phasing out, and they need replacements. They will be using the new parts for their upcoming Robot in Three Days competition and for the next five plus years after the competition. USG passed the funding request with a 14-0-3 vote.

The Huskies Baking Club requested $2,500, with $1,500 expected to go to ingredients. The request was originally denied by the Ways and Means Committee (WAM). The Huskies Baking Club then appealed the rejection, arguing that baking is cultural. After debate, USG passed the motion,12-1-5, to give $500 to the club for ingredients and another $1,000 for non-ingredient purposes.

This week’s member of the week was Becky Etten, USG Secretary. After the meeting, when asked how she felt about the 4,133-word count in the meeting minutes, she answered, “I’m just tired.”

During next week’s meeting, the Women’s Volleyball Club and DND Club will be requesting funding through the WAM Committee. It will also be the first meeting after the recent elections, so they will be welcoming 12 new members.
