Starting this semester, The Lode will be accepting “letters to the editor” submitted by our readers. These are typically short opinion pieces, written in the form of a letter addressed to the editor of a paper (that’s me). The topics of these pieces are usually relevant to current events or stories published in the previous issue of the paper.
Who can submit a letter to the editor? Anyone! Well, not “anyone”. We want to keep submissions topical to MTU, so we will only be accepting letters from current or former students, staff, and faculty. Letters only have to be respectful, insightful, and calmly written. Students may also submit letters that directly address previous letters from others, but again, respect is a requirement to be published. The Lode reserves the right to deny publication of a letter for any reason. If you want to send in a letter, you can reach us at mtulode@mtu.edu.
