The next HuskyLEAD session, Leading the Charge for a Sustainable Future, will take place on Monday, Feb. 17, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the MUB Alumni Lounge. The seminar seeks to educate students with relevant insights into key sustainability challenges, allowing them to actively participate in effecting positive evolution. By studying the core concerns of sustainability, the event will help students realize their power to influence and lead initiatives toward a more sustainable future.
Creating a sustainable, wealthy, and equitable world is a massive task humanity has tried to meet. This program will engage students in a discussion about the most difficult sustainability challenges and what they can do to make a difference.
“HuskyLEAD will discuss the challenges of sustainability and what students can do to help promote valuable, sustainable practices,” stated Cole Pierucki, a Student Leadership & Involvement student worker. “Student leaders can create lasting change, and this session will demonstrate how.”
The session will be led by the Office of Sustainability and Resilience, which is responsible for moving sustainability programs forward at Michigan Tech. The office strives to cultivate visionary student leaders who are enthusiastic about environmental stewardship, assisting them in incorporating sustainable techniques into campus life and community projects.
Delegates may expect to learn about resource conservation, ethical waste management, and how to implement green projects in student groups. By the end of the workshop, students will have concrete ways to integrate sustainability into their leadership responsibilities, resulting in a more ecologically conscious and engaged campus community.
The HuskyLEAD series aims to provide Michigan Tech students with leadership abilities that go beyond the classroom. This event, in particular, emphasizes the rising necessity for student participation in global environmental initiatives.
Students who want to make a difference are urged to come and participate in the continuing discussion about creating a sustainable future. They will not only gain information but will also join a network of like-minded people committed to making the world a better place. Don’t miss this opportunity to be inspired, educated, and encouraged to set the standard for sustainability.
