A fire broke out at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 29 at 1914 Woodmar Dr. at one of the apartment units in the Daniell Heights Community. No casualties were reported.
Two fire trucks responded to the scene; firefighters were able to douse the fire and keep the situation under control.
City of Houghton Fire Chief Eric James commented that the cause of the event was a hardware failure and that Michigan Tech Facilities will be evaluating the unit shortly.
