Randall Terry, a politician and activist, is a third-party candidate for the Constitution Party that will be on the ballot in November. His running mate is a nondenominational pastor, Stephen Broden.
Abortion: Terry is the founder of Operation Rescue, an anti-abortion organization that has gained popularity by blocking the entrances to abortion clinics. According to their website, Operation Rescue describes itself as a “Christian activist organization dedicated to saving innocent, preborn babies by utilizing investigative techniques to expose deceit, neglect, and abuse within the abortion cartel, while demanding enforcement of state and federal standards and statutes.”
Border Security: Terry discussed during the Free and Equal Elections Foundation Debate that he believes that America should build a wall around its border. He has stated that he believes that America already has all of the funding and resources needed to build the wall, they just need to do so. After the wall is constructed, he wants to start mass deportation of illegal immigrants and create new regulations to decide who to let in and for what reasons, whether that be to support jobs or for other reasons.
Economy: From his statements in the Free and Equal Elections Foundation Debate, Terry’s plan to decrease inflation and address the national debt is to make America energy independent by drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. Terry wants to export this oil to other countries and use a portion of those exports to reduce the national debt. By drilling for oil in America he believes that this will reduce the cost of fuel which will in turn reduce the cost of shipping, decreasing the cost of goods and addressing the issue of inflation.
Healthcare: Terry has not made an official statement about climate change, crime and guns, healthcare, or involvement in foreign policy.
