Hey! My name is Oscar and I have been a writer for The Lode since the beginning of this semester. I joined The Lode through taking the Intro to Journalism class. I have written a few articles but there is still so much to learn. Writing for the school paper has been a great way for me to get out, meet new people, and enjoy some of the events that Michigan Tech has to offer. I have learned so much about how newspapers are made and how journalists approach writing articles.
I am a senior undergraduate student at Michigan Tech majoring in Chemical Engineering. I am a member of Omega Chi Epsilon, the honors society for chemical engineering students. I spend most of my free time playing video games, watching movies, and learning about politics. A fun fact about myself is that I can recite every U.S. president in order, from Washington to Biden.
