The Husky Multirotor club is a great place for anyone interested in flying any radio-controlled aerial vehicles. If you are seeking to practice taking photos of the beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula, or if you want to compete in a high speed aerial race, the Multirotor Club is the place. The Husky Multirotor Club was started just two years ago by students looking for a safe and responsible way to practice and hone their skills with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The club is a wealth of knowledge on drones, with many of the members constructing their own using 3D printing. They also have fun experimenting with other UAVs such as an RC fixed-wing plane that they are working on. The club placed third overall at the Collegiate Drone Racing Association last year.
The club has several first-person view quadcopters that are used to practice all skills related to caring for and flying drones. They meet on Saturdays by the softball fields to practice and have fun flying together, when the weather cooperates. During harsher weather, the club is able to practice inside with smaller drones and free simulators.
