Club Spotlight: Photo Club

Are you interested in taking photographs and/or furthering your knowledge and skillset of the art of photography? The Photo Club at Michigan Tech is a student organization that is centered around photography and its applications. They host weekly hour-long meetings throughout both semesters to host both topical discussions and plan outings.

Among the activities that can be expected at Photo Club are trips around the Copper Country to take photos and explore the outdoors (weather permitting), studio sessions, film development and darkroom lessons, photo workshops, camera discussions and deep-dives.

In the past, we have done photo expeditions to Brockway Mountain, Silver Mountain, Lake of the Clouds, the Freda Ruins, Redridge Dam, Victoria Dam, and more.

We cater to all skill levels and formats, whether you are a beginner photographer with a digital point-and-shoot or a seasoned professional that exclusively shoots film, or anything in-between, we can help you develop (pun intended!) your photography to the next level.

Meetings are weekly, Fridays at 5 p.m. in Fisher 101. The discord can be reached with the code JFDC2FuRkd.
