Mont Ripley season passes began to be handed out on Nov. 13 in the Van Pelt and Opie Library. Every year, Mont Ripley allows students to choose their own preferred name and photo for their Mont Ripley season pass, and they can pick them up at the campus library or the ski area’s chalet. The first distribution goes on until Nov. 15 at the Van Pelt Library. It will happen there again from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1. On weekdays starting Dec. 2, passes can be picked up in the ski hill’s chalet at the convenience of the pass holder and hours of operation. Season pass holders are required to wear their passes at all times while active at the ski area, due to legal liability reasons. All Michigan Tech students should have recently received an email with instructions on how to submit their pass information.
On a similar note for more advanced skiers and snowboarders, Mount Bohemia is selling their famed $99 season passes from Nov. 22 to Dec. 2. This does not include taxes, fees, or access on Saturdays. There is a more expensive pass which allows for Saturday resort access. Mount Bohemia is currently in the middle of “construction progress on new bottom terminal, three new lodging yurts, and 12 new trailside cabins,” according to their Facebook page. The bottom terminal is referring to an existing chair lift that is being renovated. New night skiing lighting and backcountry trails may be added this coming season as well.
