A tribute to warm Yooper culture
Dear Professor Gordillo,
I just wanted to thank you for how you’ve influenced my life. When I first came to Tech, I was overwhelmed and stressed beyond belief. But over the course of my first class as your student, I found myself slowly relaxing from the exacting standards I’d set for myself. And that’s all thanks to you.
You have such a joyful spirit and you have always encouraged me to look beyond my need for perfection. You have taught me to enjoy the mistakes and the lessons that come from them. You have taught me to realize that life and emotion and art are never flawless, and that’s what makes them beautiful and precious.
Thank you so much for the life lessons you’ve been teaching me, even though you thought you’ve only been teaching me about art. I am far more confident and joyful because of you. No other professor has influenced me as much as you have, and I am so thankful.
Sincerely,
