Club Spotlight: Memorial Union Board

Since fall of 1952, the Memorial Union Board (MUB) has been committed to providing various events, activities, and experiences for the students at MTU. The MUB Board has made a mission to provide inclusive activities and opportunities for students to get involved.

When asked how they contribute to student life, Vice President Landon Thelen said, “We try to define the student experience with a range of events that has something for everyone.” The club is composed of the executive board, committee chairs, and members. The members include both undergraduate and graduate students.

The MUB Board contains five committees hosting over 35 events annually to ensure efficient planning and execution. The committees includee fun and games, arts and leisure, music and variety, special events, and marketing. Currently, the board is planning a “Havarti Party” event and this year’s Spring Fling in the near future. Yearly activities that have had a lasting impact on students have been Homecoming events, Spring Fling, and Stuff-a-Husky.

Thelen hopes to see the club evolve with increased members and participation in the future. There is a wide variety of ways to get into contact with the MUB Board.
