Student projects featured on Enterprise Day

Michigan Tech hosted Enterprise Day in the MUB Ballroom on Feb. 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Enterprise Program at Michigan Tech. Enterprise Day provides a means of showing off projects and teams of the 26 different Enterprises. Each group has its mission, team collaboration, and opportunities. With these programs still expanding, over one thousand students at Michigan Tech participate, and 50 or more sponsors help make it all possible.

During the event, a number of Enterprises were showing off flashy and innovative work. The variety of majors represented by projects gives prospective students the opportunity to explore their future line of work innovatively. Participating in the Enterprise program also provides a valuable addition to a resume while building skills that will be used in the industry.

The Enterprise program started in 1999, when the first three teams started to test the Enterprise concept. These teams were Program in Integrated Sustainable Manufacturing (PrISM), Resource Engineering Associates (REA), and Wireless Communication Enterprise (WCE), the latter of which is still operating today. The concept succeeded, and we can see the fruits of their labor today.
