Swing Club throws SnoBall dance to celebrate end of Winter Carnival

On Saturday, Feb. 8, the MTU Swing Club in association with Blue Key Honor Society hosted the yearly SnoBall dance, a lively way to celebrate the end of Winter Carnival. The dance was held on campus in the MUB ballroom following the final Winter Carnival hockey game series and fireworks show.

Whether they were experienced dancers or complete beginners, the event encouraged all attendees to relax and move to the music. No prior experience in swing dancing or a dance partner was needed, making the event a laid-back environment for anyone to learn. On Feb. 6, a SnoBall Crash Course was held in the DHH ballroom for anyone who wanted to learn the basics of swing dancing prior to the celebration. The event encouraged experienced dancers to brush up on their skills and beginner dancers to learn new techniques, so that everyone could feel confident on the dance floor.

The dance also included a free snack bar as well as a cash drink bar for participants 21 and older. While many dressed up to celebrate, it was encouraged that all come as they are to have a good time.

The 2025 SnoBall was the perfect way to wrap up this year’s Winter Carnival, celebrating with music, food, and lots of dancing for all to enjoy.
