Take time to recharge during Spring Break

Michigan Tech Students have their 2025 Spring Break fast approaching. This break spans from Saturday, Feb. 22 to Sunday, Mar. 2. Dining Hall hours will be altered during the week of Spring Break; the affected dining halls are Wadsworth, McNair, DHH, and Campus Cafe. On Friday, Feb. 21, McNair will close its doors at 1:30 p.m., followed by Wadsworth Hall at 6 p.m. They will not open their doors until Sunday, Mar. 2 at 11 a.m. Both DHH and Campus Cafe will be closed from Friday, Feb 21. DHH will not open until Monday, Mar. 3 at 7 a.m., and Campus Cafe will open on Monday, Mar. 3 at 6 p.m.

For students living in the residence halls, email communications have been sent that outline what needs to be taken care of before departure. If one plans to stay in the dorms during break, they need to fill out the request form on Michigan Tech’s Spring Break website. This request ensures that the student’s Husky Card will still allow them to access their building during the hiatus. Front desks and mail services will be unavailable between Feb. 22 and Mar. 2. However, mail will be stored until Mar. 2 when staff returns to sort and deliver.

Resident Assistants and Facilities Staff will be entering rooms over break to check for things asked for in the departure checklist, such as closed windows, open blinds, and heaters turned on. These checks begin Saturday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m.

For students who are planning to leave a vehicle on campus, Transportation Services requests that by Sunday, Feb. 23 at 10 p.m., “students must move their vehicles to Lot 26A.” By Sunday, Mar. 2, at 10 p.m. vehicles should be moved back to their assigned lot.
