Spring Involvement Fair, an event where students can participate in activities and learn more about local student organizations, will be held on Jan. 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union Ballroom. Any student organization that wishes to reserve a spot in the fair should do so before Jan. 8 at midnight.
Spring Involvement Fair is a chance for students to learn more about Michigan Tech’s student organizations. Similar to K-Day, it gives students the opportunity to create connections with Michigan Tech’s student organizations. Students will be able to learn more about these organizations through activities hosted by the organizations.
“I think just overall making sure that students have, like, a community that they are connected with and that they are able to invest in as well is just, it’s just good for overall student mental health, but also, it’s, a lot of our student organizations are a lot of fun to be in,” says Taylor Piering, coordinator of the Spring Involvement Fair with Student Leadership and Involvement.
The fair itself will have a variety of activities available. “This year we are trying to make it more of, like, an actual … fair, where there’s activities to participate in, so we are trying to kind of create more events for people to do at the Spring Involvement Fair itself, as opposed to just finding out information,” says Piering.
Participating organizations will be hosting activities for all students who come by. Some of these activities include Dance Dance Revolution and arcade machines through the DDR Club, a curling mat through the Curling Team, and crafts hosted by the Craft Club in the Makerspace. These are the events known as of the writing of this article given that the majority of student organizations typically register in the spring. The link to student organization registration for the event, as well as more information about Spring Involvement Fair, can be found on the event’s info page at
