Michigan Tech to battle Lake Superior State

Michigan Tech will take on Lake Superior State University at the John Macinnes Student Arena on Jan. 10 at 7:07 p.m. and 11 at 6:07 p.m. It will be crucial for the Huskies to win as many CCHA divisional games as possible for them to have the best shot at earning a playoff spot. Although, if they cannot manage to pull off the sweep, the Huskies will have six more divisional series remaining in the season.

The Huskies have historically had a strong record against LSSU. Out of the 59 games played against each other, Michigan Tech is 32-20-7. Although the Huskies have a lower penalty kill conversion rate than Lake Superior by more than 10% (with LSSU at 86% and MTU at 75%) Lake Superior has nearly double the amount of penalties as MTU.

Despite the outcome this weekend, Michigan Tech still has many games left to look forward to, including a home and away game series against NMU towards the end of Jan. 24 and 25. MTU had two demanding victories against NMU earlier this year and they are hoping to repeat history against their main rivals.
