Quiet Living: Reusing single-use plastics

In our daily lives, we are often surrounded by single-use plastics. There are many ways to reuse these single-use items to help reduce their impact on the environment and save money.

One of the greatest ways to reuse single-use plastics is for storage. Sandwich containers or plastic bottles are great at containing small screws, pins, and stickers that are easily lost. This is also a great way to organize drawers and cabinets.

Another way to make use of these single-use plastics is for painting. Water bottles offer a great way to wash brushes without dirtying a cup and bottle caps can be used to hold paints, allowing for easy clean up.

A final way to make use of these plastics is for handiwork. Lunch meat containers are a great way to prepare glues or other sealants that need to be mixed before they are applied, without making a mess. Additionally, plastic bottles can be cut to make makeshift funnels that can help fill up a car’s oil or windshield wiper fluid without having to spend the money on a  funnel.
